When Will the Chiefs Get Their Super Bowl Rings
Members of the Kansas City Chiefs organization will receive their Super Bowl LIV championship rings Tuesday night at Arrowhead Stadium. Chiefs Chairman and CEO describes the rings and the process to have them made.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Another moment 50 years in the making has arrived.
Members of the Kansas City Chiefs organization are receiving their Super Bowl LIV championship rings in a ceremony Tuesday on the field at Arrowhead Stadium.
The players are being introduced as they walk out of the tunnel and onto the field, where Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt is handing each player a box containing the ring.
On the YouTube broadcast — which is being emceed by the Voice of the Chiefs, Mitch Holthus — each player introduction is followed by a congratulatory video featuring the player's family.
After the player introductions, Hunt addressed the team from the home of the Super Bowl LIV champions.
"I don't think I'm ever going to get tired of saying that," Hunt said.
Hunt said Chiefs President Mark Donovan and "a couple players had some input on it" with respect to designing the championship rings.
He also said he believes the Chiefs' rings are "the best, the most beautiful and among the biggest Super Bowl rings in the National Football League."

The Chiefs' rings feature 10.5 carats of gemstones, including 255 diamonds and 36 rubies.
The includes an arrangement of 60 diamonds "in honor of the franchise's 60th season" and an arrangement of 16 rubies in honor of the team's 10 AFC West division championships and six playoff appearances under Reid.
It also has the initials LH on the bottom of the ring in honor of the franchise's founder, Lamar Hunt.
Each ring for the players is customized with their name, jersey number in diamonds and signature engraved on the inside.
Perhaps even more beautiful for Chiefs fans, coach Andy Reid, who is entering his eighth season with the Chiefs, and General Manager Brett Veach, who is the youngest Super Bowl-winning GM in NFL history, reportedly are close to receiving six-year contract extensions to remain in Kansas City.
"No one deserves this more than Andy ...," Hunt said. "Let's give it up for Big Red."
The Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 in a stirring comeback win Feb. 2, 2020, in Miami Gardens, Florida, for the second Super Bowl title in franchise history.
Kansas City also won Super Bowl IV a half-century earlier.
Now, Super Bowl LIV MVP Patrick Mahomes, who signed a 10-year extension and bought an ownership stake in the Royals this offseason, and company have the bling to match their championship swagger.
The reigning champion Chiefs, who hoisted a championship flag Saturday at Arrowhead Stadium, open the 2020 season Sept. 10 against the Houston Texans.
The Chiefs-Texans game — the third showdown between Mahomes and Houston quarterback Deshaun Watson, who were chosen two picks apart in the 2017 NFL Draft — will be televised on 41 Action News.
The stadium will be 22% full — which is fewer than 17,000 fans, per Kansas City, Missouri, Health Department guidance — and fans will be required to wear masks and avoid mingling during pregame tailgating.
